Rebel Wine, the UK’s original CBD wine drink wins first award!

Happy New Year, we hope that 2021 brings you health and happiness despite the trying times we are in!

We are officially 3 months from our launch in 2020 and are delighted to confirm that we have won our first award! Bronze in the Beverages category of the Canex 2020 Awards.

Aimee Hughes from Canex Group confirmed: “When we receive things such as alcohol, food etc. we try and get everyone at Canex together to try them and throw around our opinions, likes and dislikes but of course, with us all WFH I had to try the wines alone this time around. I loved them. The retro packaging sold me but then tasting them and not being left with that typical bitter taste we have come to expect from CBD products meant they went straight into my top 3 from the year.”

Launching a new product at any time can be challenging let alone in the middle of a pandemic.  This award acknowledges all our hard work in bringing this very special product to market. Rebel Wine has been met with huge enthusiasm from all ages especially over Christmas. We are anticipating even more demand when the Summer festivals season finally kicks into gear.  After all, what could be nicer than an ice cold can of Rebel Wine Rosé on a perfect Summer’s day listening to your favourite band, live.

Rupert continued, “This is the first CBD infused wine in the UK. We have combined the highest quality Hemp, organically grown in Colorado with our existing award winning wines to make a fabulous wine based drink.”

What’s next for 2021?

Whilst the dreaded lurgy has slowed us down, with the cancellation of festivals and outdoor events, we have spent our time over the last three months connecting with our customers, both old and new, through outdoor pop-ups (socially distanced of course!) and online group tastings for our fabulous Rebel Wine.

With the start of a new year, and a new lockdown, we know that being healthy will be at the forefront of everyone’s minds and of course there will be much talk of CBD – well, we hope so! Being the very first and award winning CBD wine drink to emerge in the UK, we want to continue making noise and overcome the stigma of CBD products in the UK due to its confusion with Cannabis Oil…

CBD itself is the non-hallucinogenic element of the Marijuana plant. You will not get high from drinking our Rebel wine product and it is completely legal in the UK. So why CBD & wine? CBD is an oil and can be taken in its natural form using a dropper. However, CBD itself has a rather earthy taste and so CBD oil can be added to a variety of food and drink to mask the earthiness and make it much more palatable. We decided that wine would make an excellent base for CBD and we only pick the best quality wines imported from South Africa.

We can’t talk about the health benefits of CBD or make claims that our products promote these, as to do so whilst talking about our fabulous wines could be seen that we were being irresponsible as a drink retailer. But you can read about the benefits of CBD for yourselves and we can assure you that the feedback we have received has been very positive. We are the original and award winning after all! There is no taste from the added CBD to our great wines and if you’re still not convinced, “a red before bed, will knock out the Zeds”. That’s from a customer, not us!
